The Geo Squad Academy is our pscholarship program which consists of recruiting graduates abroad, giving them additional training and ultimately, bringing them here to Canada to take full-time jobs within our company. Through this program, we partly meet our needs for qualified and competent personnel, while giving the opportunity for young graduates from universities and professional schools in countries friendly to Canada to acquire relevant professional experience.

After selection

• Additional professional training at the IUT Douala campus or in partner professional training centers. Introduction (depending on professions and trades) to tasks following Canadian norms and standards.

• Alongside additional professional training, the procedures for obtaining work permits, recognition of diplomas and initial training, membership of professional orders if applicable (OIQ, OGQ, OAGQ, etc.) are carried out.

• Travel to Canada and job integration for 2 years within Geo Squad. Transport, accommodation and insurance all provided.

First edition of program
 

In order to strengthen our team and support our growth, we are recruiting in Africa by initiating the Geo Squad Academy program, the first edition of which will take place in Douala, Cameroon.

This first edition aims to recruit, upgrade and employ 50 young graduates who will have the opportunity to come work in Canada and thus acquire relevant international professional experience in the field of mining.

To the 50 candidates who will be selected, Geo Squad will offer a 6-month scholarship including:

• Refresher training aimed at familiarizing participants with Canadian techniques, methods and work standards

• Assistance with all administrative procedures relating to the recognition of diplomas, obtaining a work permit in Canada, as well as covering all related costs.

At the end of the Geo Squad Academy program, participants will be offered:

• A 2-year employment contract (full time, 40 hours per week)

• A work permit issued by IRCC

• Accommodation provided free of charge to each employee near the workplace

• A return plane ticket with open return date

• Health insurance, work accident and life insurance.

Only pre-selected candidates will be contacted and invited to take the selection exams which will take place in Douala, Cameroon. The date and location will only be communicated to candidates pre-selected on the basis of the elements declared on their CV. Interviews with candidates who have passed the written exam will be the subject of individual invitations.

All declared diplomas, as well as the authenticity of the documents submitted to us, will be subject to rigorous checks. Given the costs associated with these verifications, Geo Squad reserves the right to pursue damages against the offenders.
